Want to be a Solar Technician?

Apply now for a free 14-week training course in Downtown Boston

WHAT: Want the skills to earn and keep a good solar job? Join the SHINE solar career program to get certified for solar work. This is a free full-time program that runs for 14 weeks beginning on October 7, 2024.

You’ll learn important life skills along with trade skills. You’ll learn how to stay safe in the workplace, use power tools, and build the racking systems for rooftop solar systems. You’ll also get the skills to build a resume and be confident in a job interview.

This program is for people who are new to solar. You don’t have to have a high school diploma, and you don’t have to have prior construction experience. Participants will earn a stipend and graduates will leave with OSHA and NABCEP certifications, plus job placement assistance.

Apply now. Space is limited and made available on a first-come-first-served basis.

This solar program is a project of the SHINE coalition, organized by Boston-based nonprofits and solar companies, and launched by Rare, a global nonprofit.

HOW: Interested individuals should fill out this application: https://rare.org/solar-helping-ignite-neighborhood-economies-shine/interest. For questions about SHINE or application assistance, email [email protected] or call or text (617) 990-3621.
