How does your city solve problems? How can the arts heal in a time of trauma? Inspire in a time of need? Unite in a time of crisis?
Join Julie Burros, City of Boston's Chief of Arts and Culture; Lori Lobenstine, co-founder of the Design Studio 4 Social Intervention for a thoughtful and lively panel. Together, we will discuss on how the City of Boston, non-profit organizations, and artists can come together for the good of the community and utilize the arts as a tool for social justice and positive change. We will be brainstorming, problem-solving, and sharing successes, and invite the public to add to the conversation.
This program is hosted by the Society of Arts and Crafts in conjunction with I.M.A.G.I.N.E Peace Now, an exhibition featuring over 90 decommissioned guns transformed by artists into objects of piece. On view through June 10.
