The King’s Chapel Concert Series explores the historical, theological, and civil rights connections of the African-American spiritual. Music Director Heinrich Christensen leads the King’s Chapel Choir in a program that includes classic and newly written arrangements of beloved spirituals. Discover examples of poetry from the Harlem Renaissance, and Robert Sirota’s original “Spiritual for Mother Emanuel,” written in the wake of the tragic 2017 shooting in Charleston. Also featuring Kera Washington (percussion) and Bill Vint (soprano saxophone).
Validated concert parking available at One Beacon Street Garage. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. The audience is invited to a post-concert reception after the concert.
Tickets at the door: $20, $15 (students & seniors)
