Specialists are a New York City based funk collective founded by guitarist Will Harden and bassist Mikey Rotunno, known for their powerful vocal and compositional style combined with masterful production laced with frequent harmonies and hip-hop verses. Their sound cultivates a polished, funk-rock listener experience that fans of all genres can appreciate.
Specialists currently have three albums and two EPs released. Their latest single "Head in my Hand" blends their signature bass and guitar-driven funk sound with a new edgy-rock polish, and their most refined release, the EP "Too Easy," was written and recorded entirely during quarantine over the internet. The duo has created an album as prime as any billboard single, filled with early 2000s-styled dance tracks, jazz-fusion, and epic melodic choruses.
Specialists have earned themselves an impressive performance resume, including appearances at Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta, Sterling Stage Festival, and support for Brooklyn’s own Phony Ppl, to name a few. Their upcoming show at Upstairs at The Middle East will feature Good Trees River Band and The Trichomes, promising a night of captivating music and undeniable energy.
Opening the show will be Good Trees River Band & The Trichomes.
