Bring the whole family for a fun-filled day of kite flying and Bollywood themed music, games, crafts, and outdoor fun on Spectacle Island!


Make and fly your own kite at one of the best kite-flying destinations in Boston!


Enjoy a picnic, watch kite flying demonstrations, play on giant-sized toys by Knucklebones, get a henna tattoo, or join a fitness class at this family-friendly event for all ages.


Don’t forget to leave time to explore the beautiful and historic Spectacle Island, featuring miles of trails and sandy beaches.


Event includes:
On the pier:
- BollyX workout class at 11:30am


At the island’s saddle,* ongoing from 12pm – 3pm:
- Kite-making and flying
- Kite demonstrations by the American India Foundation
- Games with Knucklebones
- Live music by Berklee College of Music
- Henna art


*To get to the Spectacle Island “saddle,” walk up the path to the left of the island Visitor Center (approximately 10 minutes)


To get here, take the 9am, 10:30am, or 12:30pm ferry from Long Wharf North. Ferry departures are available at 1:30pm, 3:30pm, and 5:30pm.


RSVP does not include a ferry ticket. It is highly recommended that you purchase tickets for this ferry ahead of time, as they do sell out. Reserve tickets to Spectacle Island Here.
