On Sunday, July 10th Jamaica Plain will be closing its main street (Centre Street) from 9am until 3pm to traffic and will be opening to pedestrians only. There will be many events and activities.

JP Chess, to celebrate one year since its first gathering, will be hosting an event at Open Streets including two unrated tournaments for fun. We'll be setting up 10 tables in the parking spots in the road near J.P. Licks. Here is the timetable:

The number of players (limited to 20 each tournament) will determine the format of the tournament but it will likely be:​​

 

The games are unrated. There's no entry fee but then no prizes unless we can get some donated from a local business.

To register for a tournament Go to our website here for the registration link. Registration is needed to secure your spot (you'll need to also be at the event 15 mins before start of tournament) or risk turning up on the day and register half an hour before the start of the tournament. Please only register if you can commit to the full two hours.
