Jenny Dee & The Deelinquents latest record 'Electric Candyland' sees Jenny Dee and co. fast forwarding from the mid-60's stylings of their debut 'Keeping Time' directly to 1979, delving into Dee's love of Blondie, DEVO, and ELO (specifically the Xanadu Soundtrack).
The new record features 8 Dees originals, as well as a rollicking version of The Sweet's "Fox On The Run", as well as a new Graham Parker song - "That Moon Was Low",that was given directly to Jenny by GP. Parker later recorded his version on 'Three Chords Good', the first Graham Parker & The Rumour record in 30 years.
Jenny Dee made her start with notable Boston bands, The Downbeat 5 and The Dents, before deciding to indulge her love for the girl group and soul sounds of the 1960's. The band released their debut in 2010 called 'Keeping Time' as well as 2 7" 45 vinyl singles. Dee won the Boston Music Award for Best Female Vocalist in 2010.
Scott Janovitz is a Boston-based musician who has been a member of The Great Bandini, The Confidence Men, The Figgs, and Graham Parker's touring band The Latest Clowns.
In 2010, he released an album under the name The Russians, a collective that featured a revolving cast of friends and musical compatriots. That LP, Crashing The Party, received critical acclaim, earned a Boston Music Award, and was named among the "Best Music of 2010" by the Wall Street Journal.
Since that time, Janovitz has co-composed the score for the Parker Posey film The Love Guide, recording seven original songs for the soundtrack, and he's released an EP and several singles, most recently "Everlasting Health" (November 2016).
