Tim Watson – guitar, electronics / Noah Harrington - bass
Tim Watson is an award-winning guitarist and composer based out of Boston. He attends the Frost School of Music on the prestigious Stamps scholarship. An adventurous and lively improviser, Watson is inspired by a wide group of artists, from Schoenberg and Webern to Red Garland and Ben Monder. Some of Watson’s accolades include the Adam Gurley-Green Composition Award, and Outstanding Performance awards from numerous jazz competitions.
Noah Harrington is an award-winning Bassist and Composer from Lexington, MA, in his second year of pursuing a dual-degree in Performance and Jazz Composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. There he studies with such pillars of the music industry as Terence Blanchard, Ralph Peterson, John Lockwood, Ayn Inserto, and Daniel Ian Smith. He plays a variety of styles ranging from Rock to Bluegrass to Folk to Jazz, and plays regularly with acclaimed progressive acoustic music group OctoPladd, as well as the rock band The Third Wing. He also plays with his own jazz quartet, Us Four, around the Boston area, and is constantly looking for new sounds and ways to explore music. At 8:00 PM on Friday July 14th and Sunday July 23rd at Outpost 186, enjoy two sets of cutting edge jazz played by two of Boston’s finest young improvisers, Tim Watson (guitar, electronics) and Noah Harrington (bass). Expect a mix of gracefully interpreted standards and some of Watson and Harrington’s original music, all played with a sense of spontaneity and joy. Come hear jazz firmly rooted in the present!
