Make a VOTE poster at our socially distanced, outdoor event making screen-printed posters for your home!
Show off your civic pride and use art to engage your friends and neighbors in our collective democratic duty as Americans. Join us on September 26th from 1PM – 4PM in Artisan’s Asylum’s loading dock for an afternoon to make your own screen-printed posters with a message to vote this election season. Pull your own posters or make some for a friend; either way, you’ll walk away with a fun sign to call your community to action.
This socially distanced outdoor event will let you and your family create some art outdoors for a good cause. Participants will sign up for 15 min spots to see the printmaking process in action and have enough time to pull their prints and let them dry. While this event will be held in our outdoor loading dock, masks must be worn at all times.
Get out the message by creating a fun and fashionable piece of art that you can display inside or outside your home! See you at our event and at the polls!
Where?
Join us in the Artisan’s Asylum loading dock for a celebration of this election season. Doors will be opened for ventilation and only 1 family/couple per session. Follow the guides in front of our building and loading dock to safely participate in this event.
10 Tyler Street, Somerville, MA
Who will be featured?
Sarah Dudek will be our featured maker who will walk you through making your own Vote or BLM signs to take home.
We will also feature our newest member business Uhuru Planet. The Uhuru Solidarity Movement is an organization of white people created by and under the leadership of the African People’s Socialist Party, with the task to organize in the white community for reparations to African people. Learn more about their movement or pick up a screenprinted tshirt at their table.
COVID-19 Safety
The safety of our community, members, and participants remains our greatest priority. Artisan’s Asylum is closely following the guidelines set by the CDC and Massachusetts regarding COVID-19, and we are requiring that everyone on-site wear masks and adhere to social distancing rules. Only 1 family or couple group may be at the screenprinting stand and only at their allotted time. We ask everyone visiting to observe social distancing guidelines before and after your screenprinting session.
