Free Trip to Spectacle Island Thursday July 6th!

Save the Harbor/ Save the Bay invites you to join us on a free cruise to DCR's Spectacle Island on Thursday, July 6th to enjoy a beautiful day on Boston Harbor and discover the "Treasures of Spectacle Island!"

The trip will begin at 10 am with an interactive presentation by Harbor Historian David Coffin at the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion at 290 Northern Avenue. We will walk as a group two blocks down to the Bay State Cruise Company dock to board the Provincetown II. Once on the island, enjoy the swimming beach, hike to the top of a drumlin for a Boston skyline view, and take part in fishing on the pier, kickball on the saddle, and wrack line walks with Save the Harbor staff! The Provincetown II will board again at 2:15pm in order to return to the Seaport at 3 pm.

There will be plenty of time for exploring, hiking, and treasure hunting on the island, though we gently remind you to leave sea glass and artifacts on the beach where you found them.

The Spectacle Island Cafe is open, or you are welcome to bring your own bagged lunch. Restrooms and water fountains are found in the Visitor's Center on the island.
