About Bike to Work Day and National Bike Month:
May is National Bike Month, sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists and celebrated in communities from coast to coast, including on National Bike to Work Day (Friday, May 17). Boston’s National Bike to Work Day Festival celebrates everyone who rides in Boston, making it fun for experienced and new bike commuters. Boston hosts an annual breakfast on City Hall Plaza. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts will be onsite at the event with lots of free swag, including Blue Bikes t-shirts and sunglasses, and also encourages riders to take advantage of its Free Ride Day by joining any of the bike commuter convoys at one of dozens of locations throughout Metro Boston and riding Bluebikes into City Hall Plaza, or pedaling into the workplace on their own.
