Enjoy a two-part performance series by the Grammy-nominated Eroica Trio – joined by clarinetist Laura Ardan and Lawrence Dutton – during the Sunday Concert Series at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.
The Eroica Trio – formed by pianist Erika Nickrenz, violinist Sara Parkins, and cellist Sara Sant'Ambrogio – are praised for their passion, enthusiasm, and technical skills. The Trio won the prestigious Naumburg Award, has toured internationally, and has received multiple Grammy nominations for their eight recordings. The group began playing together during their childhood, and is the first leading all-female chamber ensemble.
For the first performance in their two-part series, the Trio will be joined by clarinetist Laura Ardan. Ardan, principle clarinet with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, has been a featured soloist in works by Mozart, Weber, and Debussy. She has performed at a number of principal venues and music festivals, including Tanglewood and Mostly Mozart, and has been a guest of the Atlanta Chamber Players, Georgian Chamber Players, and Emory Chamber Music Society.
On January 29, Eroica Trio and Friends, Part 1 of 2, will include: Bach, Chaconne, from Partita No. 2; and Messiaen, Quartet for the End of Time.
For the second performance in their two-part series, the Trio will be joined by violist Lawrence Dutton. Dutton, violist of the nine-time Grammy winning Emerson String Quartet has performed with many of the world’s great performing artists and chamber music ensembles. He has appeared as a soloist with many American and European orchestras. A recipient of the 2015 Richard J. Bogomolny National Service Award from Chamber Music America, Dutton was inducted into the American Classical Music Hall of Fame in 2010.
On Feburary 5, Eroica Trio and Friends, Part 2 of 2, will include: Dvor˘ák, Piano Trio No. 4, Dumky; Villa-Lobos, Ária from Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5; and Schumann, Piano Quartet in E flat Major.
