8 Wednesdays, 3:30 – 5:30 pm, October 7 – December 9 (no class on 11/11 or 11/25)
This multiple week class is the perfect add on for homeschooling or remote learning.
This course embarks upon a journey through the fundamentals of drawing. A dynamic approach guided by the interests of participants is employed as the line between drawing from life and drawing from imagination is obscured.
Investigations in mark making include working with pencil, marker, charcoal, pastels, watercolor and ink! Guiding principles such as negative space, tracing, shading, perspective, drawing from photographs, and still life will initially steer the trajectory of this course. Participants are encouraged to use their own work flow approach as they become familiar with concepts and materials.
Class sessions will be held virtually and in person. Six sessions will be taught via zoom and two sessions will be in person at the Sculpture Park. Those sessions will require masks and social distancing to enjoy deCordova as subject matter, inspiration and a place to safely celebrate and share created works.
