What better way to celebrate Sandy Beach’s 100-year birthday than with fireworks! Sandy Beach Association is planning a spectacular Centennial Firework event and Clambake on July 22nd. They have hired Atlas Fireworks to put on a professional firework display. This is the first time Sandy Beach has hosted fireworks and is only fitting for its Centennial milestone. The fireworks will be launched from a barge in front of Sandy Beach at dark (around 9 pm) on Saturday, July 22nd. The public is invited to watch the fireworks from Sandy Beach or many of the other vantage points around town. Join other Cohasset residents in celebrating the Centennial year of Sandy Beach. “Niteschool”, featuring drummer Peter Lindfors, will provide live music beginning at 6 pm. There will be glow-in-the-dark and fun souvenirs for sale at Sandy Beach along with ice cream sandwiches and bottles of water. Doug Eymer of Eymer Brand Laboratories has designed an updated logo for Sandy Beach along with a commemorative 100th Birthday logo. T-Shirts and hats will go on sale beginning this weekend and at the event, and may be purchased from the bathhouse. Join in the fun and gather with friends and neighbors to celebrate this once in a lifetime Centennial Event.
