Nearly four months after the historically devastating Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico, only half of the island has its power back. The short documentary CANDLELIGHT is a journey through the storm's aftermath, and the events that changed Puerto Rico forever. In this heartfelt tribute to the resilience of the Puerto Rican people, a young woman in the hurricane-ravaged island struggles to go about her daily life, as the world around her bickers over the way things should've been.

Fast forward fourteen months after the storm, having been failed by Trump's administration, the island of over 3 million American citizens still needs our help. Established by the Hispanic Federation last year, UNIDOS Disaster Relief and Recovery Program's mission is to provide assistance to individuals and small businesses devastated by Hurricanes Irma and María, and accelerate their recovery by supporting the reestablishment of shelter, food, water, electricity, and health. For this event, we humbly ask for a minimum donation of $5 to help them assist our not-so-distant neighbors.

More about the beneficiary: https://www.hispanicfederationunidos.org/

$5 Minimum Donation (all proceeds go directly to UNIDOS) includes
- Film screening
- Skype Q&A with director
- Pre-film mixer with light refreshments (BYOB allowed but please keep it low-key)
- Jewelry on sale by Rhiannon Bethany and opening tunes by Lunamariposa
