On Saturday, May 18th, Abigail Rorer will be on hand all day demonstrating wood engraving, printing on our Vandercook, and talking about her work in . The event is being held in conjunction with the Wood Engravers’ Network Triennial Exhibition, a juried, traveling exhibit featuring 64 engravings by 37 artists from New England and throughout the United States, Canada, Ireland and Belgium.
Shown here is one of two wood engravings Ms. Rorer has in the WEN Exhibit. Titled “Stampede”, the piece is a multi-block relief engraving with linocut and hand-coloring, 11.75” x 16.75”.
Abigail is the proprietor of The Lone Oak Press in Petersham, MA where she creates exquisite wood engravings, works on paper, broadsides, silverpoints, and fine-press limited edition books. Her work is held by many libraries and museums and has been exhibited in the US and abroad.
Don’t miss this special opportunity to see the WEN Exhibition and to watch, listen and learn about wood engraving from Abigail Rorer, one of the very best.
