The Roxbury YMCA is privileged to bring our beloved community together to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr for the 14th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration: The Power of Legacy Friday, January 14, 2022 at 7:30 AM.
To ensure everyone’s health and safety, our traditional breakfast will be a virtual celebration. Our families and friends can participate from home, whether at their kitchen table or the comfort of their couch. Together, we can reflect on Martin Luther King Jr.’s teachings and on the meaning of a beloved community, creating positive change for our communities and addressing equity and equality for all.
Our event will highlight The Power of Legacy, through reflections, remembrances and a conversation between today’s teens and their elders who were teens during the Civil Rights era. Our intergenerational conversation will pass on knowledge, experiences and legacy to our young people, truly our brightest future.
Hear from community leaders including Ayanna Pressley, Mayor Michelle Wu, YMCA of Greater Boston President James Morton, and the Roxbury YMCA Executive Director Kathryn Saunders.
