Christopher Luz Roque is a dancer who explores the world of movement using an intuitive, culturally aware, and deeply somatic process. Born and raised on Cape Cod, Chris started his dance training under the direction of Sheena Harper at Harper Dance Center in Mashpee, MA. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance at Dean College. Chris has performed repertoire by José Limón and Michel Fokine; and works by Marc Arentsen, Dara Nicole Capley, Todd Shanks, Stephen Ursprung, and Roshni Pecora. Most notably, he was a soloist in Limón's masterwork "The Unsung," which was staged by Kurt Douglas. On campus, Chris serves as the captain of My Black Speaks, a dance team that promotes diversity and inclusion by serving as a safe space for Black and brown creatives on campus. Currently, he is the arts administration intern for Liquid Spine.
