Pianist Anran Qian is an adventurous musician who not only loves performing on the stage, but also enjoys connecting with different people through performance, improvisation, composition, and teaching. She has performed on three continents, connecting with people across the globe through her music.
Anran was born into a musical family. Following her parents’ footsteps, she started to play the piano at a young age and completed her Bachelor's and Master’s degrees at The Juilliard School under the guidance of Jerome Lowenthal and Joseph Kalichstein. She is currently completing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Boston University, while serving as a piano faculty at Brookline Music School.
In addition to her academic and teaching roles, Anran is dedicated to enriching her community. She recently founded "ArsNova," a free concert series at Newton Presbyterian Church, where she serves as the artistic director. Her enthusiasm for teaching, composing, and collaborating across artistic disciplines continues to drive her multifaceted career.
