Three Latinx organizations in Massachusetts, Hyde Square Task Force, Amplify Latinx, and Ágora Cultural Architects, come together to keep Latino culture buzzing with #CadenciaLatina: Performances from home.
On July 2nd at 7 PM, Zahili Gonzalez, a talented pianist and singer, will be performing the piano on Facebook Live. Born and raised in Cuba, Zahili’s passion for piano began when she was 6 years old. Since then she has travelled all over the world and experienced various genres and collaborated with diverse artists. During this time she performed in International Jazz Festivals in Canada as well as with a pop band in Asia for 6 years. Ultimately she pursued Jazz in Berklee College of Music. She is currently a member of the Jazz Trio, MIXCLA, which aims to represent global unity and multiculturalism not only through their diverse background but also through their mix of genres from modern Cuban rumba to traditional Cha. MIXCLA won the Downbeat Magazine Latin Group outstanding performance in 2017 and the Boston Music Awards nomination for international artist of the year in 2018. Tune in on Zahili Gonzalez’s Facebook Page and enjoy this amazing performance from the safety of your home.

While we have your attention ;) : Let’s make sure Latinxs are seen and heard every day. Take the opportunity to visit https://2020census.gov/ and fill out the Census. Latinxs make up an undercounted group, which puts us at a disadvantage that could mean less funding and political voice.
