12:00PM-1:00PM Character and Theme in Film Music with Aidan Ramsay in Rehearsal Room B

How does film music work? What tools do film composers use to amplify and support a narrative? How do you create mood and character through music? CMCB Theory teacher Aidan Ramsay leads this workshop, using examples from composers such as Kathryn Bostic, Mica Levi, and recent Emmy and Golden Globe winner Hildur Guðnadóttir to illustrate several different approaches to narrative music making. Make sure to bring your instruments—the second half of the workshop is interactive!
