About the Speakers
Raven Leilani is a National Book Foundation 5 under 35 honoree, the recipient of the 2020 Kirkus Prize, VCU Cabell Prize, NBCC John Leonard Prize, Dylan Thomas Prize, Clark Fiction Prize, and Center for Fiction first novel prize. She teaches at NYU, and Luster is her first novel.
Jesse McCarthy is Assistant Professor of English and of African and African American Studies and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of African and African American Studies at Harvard University.
