This Women's History Month, please join us for "Women on the Rise: Harness Her Power." This year is the centennial celebration of the 19th Amendment that granted women the right to vote, but nationally women's political representation is far from equal. This is especially true for women of color, who have faced additional challenges gaining the right to vote and to hold office.
However, representation of women on Boston City Council continues to grow, with women holding eight of thirteen seats and a number of "firsts" for the council. We invite you to learn from them about harnessing one's power. This event on March 19th 7:30AM - 9:30AM will feature Boston's women city councilors discussing strategies for women in Boston to exercise their political voices.
