This is the first in a 9 month series of programs celebrating the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the 19th amendment granting women the right to vote. Women in 9 seeks to highlight both the history of women's suffrage as well as the struggles still faced by women in their long journey towards equal rights, in particular those issues faced by women of color. Our hope is to inform, inspire, and interact with the public about these issues. We welcome Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan as our first speaker. DA Ryan will speak about women in public service and her experience as the first female DA in Massachusetts.
