Curious about what goes on behind the scenes in the publishing industry? Join us with Beacon Press Publicist, Perpetua Charles, for a look behind the curtain of the often mysterious publishing industry. Whether you currently work in publishing, aspire to, or are simply interested in how books make their way from imagination onto the shelves of your favorite bookstore, you will not want to miss the kick-off to the Boston Chapter Women’s National Book Association’s inaugural professional development series.
Perpetua Charles joined Beacon Press’s publicity department in 2015. She is a graduate of Florida Southern College and earned her MA in Publishing and Writing from Emerson College. Perpetua has extensive publicity experience in the areas of race and culture, memoir, education, and history. She loves to watch copious amounts of television, is a budding gardener of container plants, and she loves books, 90s-00s teen pop, and the color pink. Connect with Perpetua on Instagram at @princessperpetuaa. Read her first and second staff profile on Beacon’s blog series “Beacon Behind the Books.”
