Humor is one of the hardest genres to write: how do you craft the perfect set-up? Where's the line between funny and cheesy? And can someone please explain what the differences between satire, irony, and parody are?!
In this class, we're tackling the key elements of writing funny. We'll read and discuss flash writing from McSweeney's Internet Tendencies, one of the most popular literary outlets for humor writing. We'll specifically analyze types of humor, techniques for writing our own funnies, and different diction (voice) styles.
If you're a writer who's gunning for the laughs, join this workshop to hone your wit and whimsy! For students aged 13-18 ONLY! Register here: https://grubstreet.org/findaclass/class/young-adult-writers-program-yawp-main-charactersassemble-filling-your-fiction-with-memorable-characters-1/
