Something’s coming - something BIG! – when the imaginary beasts ensemble returns to the Charlestown Working Theater with Winter Panto 2019: Paul Bunyan and the Winter of the Blue Snow. Now, most folks have heard tell of the legendary woodsman, Paul Bunyan, but they probably haven’t heard his story told quite like this!

When we first meet our young hero, he has just left the family home to begin his trek in search of the fabled Candy Mountains. Paul soon learns that solitary journeys can seem cold and lonesome, until an encounter with the Spirit of the Blue Moon introduces Paul to an entire crew of misfit companions, including the fabled Babe, the Blue Ox, and the trusty dog Niagara.


Little do they know what lies in wait! For the icy King Zero (a.k.a. Old Man Winter), is determined to diminish Paul’s legend and do-away with the spring by turning our heroes’ adventure-of-a-lifetime into a catastrophe of epic proportions! Will our heroes foil the Demon King and his frosty fiends, or will we all be forced to endure an everlasting winter?


Paul Bunyan and the Winter of the Blue Snow will perform at the Charlestown Working Theater January 18 – February 10.
