Early 19th-century fashion may be known for its semi-sheer lightweight dresses but how did fashionable women manage to keep warm during New England winters? Join Costume Historian Carrie Midura for an exploration of the hidden layers worn beneath dresses and discover the many options for shawls, coats, and other outer accessories that were available to ward off any winter chills.

This event will take place in the 1793 Carriage House at Gore Place. Masks are required and there will be plenty of room to socially distance. To see Gore Place's COVID policy, visit their site at https://goreplace.org/covid-safety.
