These exact points we emphasize during our teaching of wilderness navigation, right along with the critical thinking that goes into it. And so much more… this comprehensive map and compass-plus course is designed to take an ordinary person, a hiker for instance, and completely empower them and give them the confidence and ability to venture forth into the wilderness. To enable him or her — or you — to seek that isolated peak, hunt in places no one else goes, to fish that remote pond, to explore the wilderness between the map’s red lines, to poop in the woods without dying, to just get away from it all, be one with the backcountry, and to even navigate safely above treeline if clouds suddenly engulf you robbing your precious sightlines. This full day course will teach you the ins and outs of using a map and compass and give you confidence and a skill set to use on your next adventure. This normally runs $275 per person.


If you live north of Boston you can be picked up at a Park & Ride if you wish, otherwise you may meet everyone at the destination. No experience needed.


Adventure Ticket is refundable up to 2 weeks in advance; 5 days before the event and you will receive a credit. Cancellations made less than five days will result in no refund or credit. Accommodation is refundable up to two weeks in advance. After that no refund or credit will be offered. Mountaineering rentals and boots are both 100% refundable. Cancellation/credit rules apply even if reporting illness - guides, and others still have to make a living.
