Join us for an evening wild medicinal foraging experience! Learn to appreciate the medicinal and edible uses of plants, both those grown intentionally and those sprouting up in the wild of their own accord. In this leisurely walk at Chestnut Hill Farm, medicinal herbalist Alex Klein will share how to fucus on identifying wild food and medicine in the garden and in surrounding woodlands, as well as teach proper harvesting techniques. Special attention will be given to safe and ethical foraging practices, and the relevant ecological roles played by some of our local species.
About your guide:
Alex Klein is a medicinal herbalist who “runs a humble herbal medicine practice based in Allston.” Alex works to enable his clients to make healthcare choices on their own terms and educates them on how to use herbs to feel better. He has wildcrafted and botanized up and down the East Coast getting to know local flora and their many medicinal and edible uses, both current and historic. Alex leads classes and workshops on herbal medicine, wild food, invasive species and local ecology, and other plant based topics. To get to know Alex visit: alexkleinherbalist.com
This is an adult-only program.
