On Saturday, November 21st from 7-10:30 pm, cat-loving families are invited to paw open the doors of The Cat Connection’s annual fundraising benefit, Whiskers and Whiskey.
Due to the pandemic, this year’s event will be held virtually, providing a unique opportunity for children and adults to enjoy an endless array of entertainment and education led by “celebrities,” such as TCC’s nationally known certified cat behaviorist, Pet Chaplain® and author Rachel Geller, Ed.D.
Founded 20 years ago, The Cat Connection (TCC) of Waltham, Mass. is a nonprofit organization focused on ensuring that every cat will live “happily ever after” in a loving home. The organization fosters abandoned cats and kittens, facilitates their adoption, and feeds local feral cat colonies.
The benefit comes at an exciting time for TCC as they ready to open their first state-of-the-art shelter at 167 Chestnut Hill Avenue in Brighton, Mass.
“Holding a virtual event enables us to offer limitless activities that will appeal to cat aficionados of all ages, from all around the country,” said Morgan Ritz, President.
For example, children are invited to a Cat Chat with the popular Miss Emily of Brooklyn, who asks that they come dressed as cats, bring a favorite cat, and be ready to ask and answer cat questions!
Other activities will include a Pet Photo Contest, a cat drawing demonstration and a tutorial on making Kitty Kocktails (Whiskers & Whiskey Sours).
Experts from around the world will give this event a unique international flair, including:
• An Irish Whiskey Tour from Galway, Ireland, led by John Byrne
• The FX Experience with four-time Emmy-nominated Hollywood Foley Artist Adam DeCoster, live from California
• A VIP room featuring the Amazing Acro-Cats, Rachel Geller, Ed.D., Israeli Chamber Project pianist and Executive Director, and Juilliard graduate and faculty member Assaff Weisman and other luminaries
• Relaxation yoga with Val Niklas
• Competitive trivia games, a raffle and silent auction, and more
Space at some of the events is limited, so TCC is inviting participants to purchase tickets as early as possible at http://bit.ly/tccwandw. Additional information is available at 781-899-4610.
