Get ready to join Wellesley Theatre Project (WTP) for a special pilot production of ONCE UPON A ONE MORE TIME JR. on Thursday May 8th, Saturday May 10th, and Sunday May 11th at 8PM. All performances will take place at the Sorenson Center at Babson College, located at 19 Babson College Drive, Wellesley, MA 02482. Powered by the chart-topping hits of the undisputed Princess of Pop, Britney Spears, ONCE UPON A ONE MORE TIME JR. turns our favorite fairy tales upside down with a clever twist! When a Fairy Godmother goes rogue and plops copies of The Feminine Mystique into the laps of classic heroines, the damsels embark on a quest to rewrite their stories and redefine “happily ever after.” This show weaves Britney Spears’ smash singles like “Crazy,” “Oops!…I Did It Again,” “Circus,” “Lucky,” and “Toxic" into a big, modern, musical dance party! Wellesley Theatre Project is thrilled to be piloting the Jr. version of this production!
ONCE UPON A ONE MORE TIME JR. features an audition-only cast composed of 17 students between the ages of 11 and 16. Cast members of ONCE UPON A ONE MORE TIME JR. reside in Wellesley as well as other communities including Needham, Newton, Waltham, Weston, Brookline, Acton, Roslindale, Dedham, Waban, and Southborough. The production staff includes: Hannah Shihdanian, Director & Choreographer; Eric Anderson Jr., Music Director; Heather Rotondi, Stage Manager; Elsa Ramsay, Costumes; and Evelyn Harrison, Props. Based on the music performed and recorded by Britney Spears, ONCE UPON A ONE MORE TIME JR. features a book by Jon Hartmere, adapted by Timothy Allen McDonald, and is produced through special arrangements with Musical Theater International.
Wellesley Theatre Project is an award winning arts academy and a Wellesley nonprofit devoted to providing students (PreK - 12th Grade) with the opportunity to study and experience theatre and performing arts through year round classes, staged productions, workshops and summer camps.
