Weed for Wildlife is an annual event in Cohasset, Scituate, Hingham and Norwell. Volunteers sign up and are assigned a location near their homes to spend an hour weeding garlic mustard, an invasive plant that harms local birds, butterflies and other wildlife by destroying the wildflowers and native plants they depend upon. No experience necessary: we show you exactly what to do and you can week on your own time that day. Teens receive community service credits, and all ages and abilities are welcome. A great event for families!
