Pre-Purchase of Ticket is required to attend the workshop.
~ What is this and who is it for?
This class is an in-person workshop for absolute beginners who wants to learn watercolor and loves flowers and plants.
You can be a beginner, a hobby painter, a creative soul, or someone who is just curious about the medium. No skills or experience are required. Just bring your open-minded self! :)
~ What do we do?
I am going to show you the technical basics, some color mixing ideas, the basic and best materials - what kind of papers are the watercolor papers and what kind of brushes we use (I show you how to hold them), and all the great stuff! After the technical basics, we are going deep into the subject of the plants and flowers and try out the techniques "for real": with the wildflowers. The finished project is going to be painting a whole composition (created by me, you don't need to know how to draw don't worry) with wildflowers using all the small things we learned at the beginning of the class.
~ Do I need to bring my own tools?
No, we give you all the basic tools to start experimenting and finishing your final painting and you can take the materials back home with you, so you can keep painting for a while with these basics. (If you want, you can bring your favorite pigments or brushes and I help you to figure out how to use them.)
If you think you are interested but you are not a creative person at all, you will surprise yourself! It going to be fun and learning a new skill is always something you can work on more later! :)
About Studio Reta
Margareta Csiszar, founder of Studio Reta, is a botanical watercolor artist, and teacher for 5 years now. She is a nature enthusiast herself and believes watercolor can teach us so much more than just a painting technique: it can be really a Zen activity, giving us flow, and relaxing colors, it helps to slow down and pay attention to the details. At least these happened to her when she started. :)
