Amal Walks Across America.
One Little Girl. One Big Hope.
Amal takes her first steps in Boston in Dewey Square, the entry point into the city for so many.
Thursday September 7th
4:00 PM — Dewey Square, Boston
4:30 PM — Chinatown Gate, Boston
5-6:00 PM — The celebration continues at Chinatown Gate even after Little Amal departs to continue her journey
Little Amal, whose name means “hope” in Arabic is a 12-foot puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee child whose journeys across many countries carry a message of hope for displaced people everywhere, especially children who have been separated from their families. She has traveled across 13 countries meeting more than a million people.
Her urgent message is simple: “Don’t forget about us.”
On September 7, she will begin her journey of 6,000 miles across the United States in one of the largest free public festivals ever created to bring a message of compassion, empathy and hope.
Everyone is welcome to walk with Amal.
FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
