On the first Saturday of every month, Western Avenue | Studios & Lofts artists open their doors to the public. Come take a peek inside their work spaces and see for yourself why Western Avenue is the creative soul of Lowell.
Our next Open Studios is Saturday, August 3, 2019, from 12-5PM.
We are celebrating the Dog Dayz of Summer with a special shout out to our artists that love painting the four legged creatures we share our lives with. (No diss to the felines out there – you can find them featured in artwork too!!) Open Studios is a day to chat with artists about their creative process, find out about classes, and order a portrait of Fido! If you come out with the pup take a selfie and #dogsofwesternavenue
What else happens on an OS Saturday? A food truck will be ready for action from noon – 8pm for each OS. Which food truck? Check our FB page for the answer. Navigation Brewing is open from 2-10pm. And the Loading Dock Gallery hosts its’ monthly reception for the gallery’s new show “Funky Book Show” from 4-6pm.
Western Avenue is a complex of four buildings of artist studios and loft residences that number over 350 artists. We think that makes us the largest artist community at least on the East Coast - right here in Lowell MA!!
This is a free event AND we have plenty of free parking. Oh yeah – did we mention we’re dog friendly too!
