VOLTA is a multimedia dance work suspended within the shared relationships between the body, technology, and the natural world. In this moment of literal and poetic shift toward unknown potential futures, how might we hold the real, the artificial, and the hybrid in a delicate equilibrium? This work for seven MIT student performers activates stunning interactive video designs by Harvard graduate students, within an imposing yet minimalist set. There will be a few surprises as well. The culmination of a short, intensive creative process, VOLTA aims to offer the audience an embodied visual and sonic dreamspace; a space in which to create one’s own associations and narratives.
Choreography by JANESSA CLARK in collaboration with the performers
