Bill Gette has led four natural history travel programs to Manitoba, Canada. His itineraries included visits to beautiful areas in the southern part of the province and to the province’s far northern port of Churchill. During this trip, he and his participants visited the Oak Hammock Marsh located a short distance north of Winnipeg, the small village of Pinawa near the Ontario border, the Delta Beach area on Lake Manitoba, and Riding Mountain National Park. In Churchill, located on Hudson Bay, Bill exported the vast tundra looking for nesting birds. Bill will share his photographs of nesting songbirds (Common Yellowthroat, Yellow-headed Blackbird, Black-and-white Warbler, Red-eyed Vireo); shorebirds (Upland Sandpiper, Wilson’s Snipe, Red-necked Phalarope, Short-billed Dowitcher); mammals (Red Fox, Black Bear, Beluga Whale); and wildflowers.
