Hop on your computer and join Marc Chauvin, author of the @Mountain Guide Manual and former president of the American Mountain Guides Association, for a course on using modern open-source software to trip plan and make your own maps.
This course will be useful for climbers, runners, hikers, mountaineers, skiers, and many other users of outdoor spaces.
Marc will teach skills like overlaying/combining multiple maps, using those maps on one's phone or watch, calculating elevation gain and loss over a given route, evaluating the potential sun exposure of a route, projecting potential avalanche danger using slope shading, and many others.
The course is free and all of those who register on the splashthat page (see link) will be invited to join over email on the day of the event.
