Spend Saturday February 8th exploring Newton’s creative businesses and arts organizations the best way possible—by rolling up your sleeves and making your own heart-felt arts and crafts. Newton’s Valentine Craft Crawl is a fun-filled day of creating gifts and cards for Valentines and learning new skills. It's an opportunity for families, friends, galentines, and crafty types to kick back, have fun, and make new connections, guided by Newton’s expert artists and craftspeople.
Craft activities take place at ten different locations throughout Newton, including one heart-warming pit-stop for Valentine crafters with special snacks and treats. Throughout the day there are activities for all ages, like making “stained glass” suncatchers at the New Art Center ($5), silkscreening Valentine’s Day cards at Shepherd & Maudsleigh Studio ($5), decorating fortune cookies at Third Space Kitchen, pounding Japanese tataki-zomé flower cards at Derby Farm Flowers--and that’s just for starters. Kids 4+ can even be dropped off at Creation Station to make colorful Valentine-inspired slime-palettes, and at Kidcasso to create their own rainbow mini-worlds, which are then packed up in little suitcases to play with at home.
