See your city as you’ve never seen it before! Over the course of this two-hour bike tour, CultureHouse staff will lead you to sites around the Somerville/Cambridge that have interesting, surprising, and inspiring urbanist stories. We will explore what makes a park inviting for all ages, discover creative uses for redundant road space, and see how cities have reallocated public space during the pandemic. At each stop, we will learn about the history of the space, complete urban design activities, and discuss our observations.
The placemaking experts from Placemaking US will join us as part of their cross-country Road Trip for the Recovery. They will place our conversation in context, sharing how it relates to the placemaking projects they have visited during their travels.
NOTE: All skill levels are welcome—we will not be biking far or fast. If you do not have your own bike, we will provide guidance on renting a Blue Bike ($10). We also may be able to offer free rentals (stay tuned, we’re working out details)! Please reach out to Aaron with any questions at [email protected].
*This is a free event, however we appreciate donations*
