University Station to Host Two American Red Cross Blood Drives with COVID-19 Antibody Testing

As the need for blood donation continues to rise, University Station in Westwood will partner with the American Red Cross to host two blood donation drives in August: Saturday, August 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesday, August 25, 2020 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the center. The American Red Cross is testing all blood, platelet, and plasma donations for the COVID-19 antibody. Donors can expect to receive the results of their antibody test within 7 to 10 days through the Red Cross Blood Donor App or on the donor portal at RedCrossBlood.org.


The drive will be located inside the space near Ulta Beauty and is by appointment only. Please register at RedCrossBlood.org/give and enter the sponsor code UniversityStation. It is safe to donate blood. Organizers will practice social distancing procedures and advanced safety protocols. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has stated that the coronavirus (COVID-19) does not pose any known risk to blood donors during the donation process or from attending blood drives.
