Andrea Cohen’s poems search the shadow regions of yearning and loss, but they take surprising, sometimes meteoric leaps, landing in a place where brightness reigns. The voice in "Unfathoming" strives to upend the title: to both acknowledge mystery, and with wile and grace, comprehend it.
Andrea Cohen's poems have appeared in the New Yorker, Atlantic Monthly, Poetry, the Threepenny Review, the New Republic, and elsewhere. Her most recent poetry collection is "Unfathoming" (Four Way Books, 2017). Other books include "Furs Not Mine," "Kentucky Derby," "Long Division," and "The Cartographer’s Vacation." Cohen directs the Blacksmith House Poetry Series in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and the Writers House at Merrimack College.
Registration is not required.

The Athenæum's five galleried floors overlook the peaceful Granary Burying Ground, and, as Gamaliel Bradford wrote in 1931, "it is safe to say that [no library] anywhere has more an atmosphere of its own, that none is more conducive to intellectual aspiration and spiritual peace." The building was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1966.
