The American College of Gastroenterology is excited to present Tune It Up: A Concert To Raise Colorectal Cancer Awareness on Thursday, March 31 at 8 PM EDT. The concert will stream for free to the public.
The virtual concert will feature performances by Ben Folds, Rufus Wainwright, Tim Reynolds, Ben Kweller, violinist Hilary Hahn, Cincinnati Pops, Broadway singer Kerry Ellis (first British Elphaba in London's West End and Broadway "Wicked," original cast of Queen's "We Will Rock You," and Fantine in "Les Miserables"), Maddie Poppe ("American Idol" Season 16 Winner), Will Liverman (who just starred in the Metropolitan Opera's production of Fire Shut Up In My Bones by Terence Blanchard which was the first opera ever performed at the Met Opera written by a Black composer), The Knights featuring violinist Gil Shaham, K.F. Jacques (hip-hop singer), and Haley Whitters (country singer who has written songs for Little Big Town and Alan Jackson), among many others.
Special appearances by Katie Couric (Co-Founder of Stand Up To Cancer, former Anchor of NBC’s “The Today Show” and CBS “Evening News”), Jamie Bernstein (Leonard Bernstein's daughter who has presented New York Philharmonic live national radio broadcasts), Emily Swallow (actress who plays The Armorer in "The Mandalorian"), and Stephanie Drake (actress who plays Meredith in "Mad Men").
In addition, the concert will feature trumpeter Dave Douglas (Downbeat Magazine's Jazz Trumpet Player of the Year 13 times since the year 2000) performing with saxophonist Joe Lovano, drummer Joey Baron, pianist Lawrence Fields, and bassist Linda May Han Oh.
