In this creative writing workshop, we will look at and discuss the following (and more):
- How to tell the historical or emotional truths, but with mercy, respect and while practicing the golden rule.
- Placing our family within their historical, social, linguistic and cultural contexts.
- How to convey the story’s meaning for you, the writer. Or, “Why are you writing this family story now?”
- Writing our family truths with humility and integrity, AKA, practicing “the Willie Nelson rule.”
