Trident Booksellers & Cafe opened in 1984 and since then has expanded from a small bookstore cafe to a full-service restaurant and two floors of books. Located on Newbury Street in historic Back Bay, Trident is the last general independent bookstore in Boston. Menu favorites are the lemon ricotta French toast, vegan cashew chili, and deluxe grilled cheese. We also have a full espresso bar, a large selection of loose leaf teas, beer & wine, and fresh juices and smoothies. Author talks, cooking demos, and other events are held in the upstairs cafe.

Nestled among bookshelves on the second floor, our new private room is appropriately named The Stacks. Inside the 1,350 square feet of event space, an original brick wall and exposed ceiling pipes set the tone for a stylish industrial environment and serve as a blank slate for your event. Whether it is a celebration or a meeting of the minds, casual or cocktail attire, we are ready to help create and execute your vision for the perfect gathering.
