Are you thinking of traveling to Israel and/or Palestine? Whatever reasons draw you there- religious, political, study, family, or pure curiosity - the region is visited by millions of tourists annually. While travel there can enriching for both personal and professional development, it can also be fraught with challenges when confronting the conflict, and maneuvering different cultures, language and personal safety and comfort.
This workshop aims to equip participants with the tools and understanding to undertake travel in this region. Join others from around Boston, as well as international guests staying at the hostel for this special night of learning and discussion. Led by HI’s education coordinator, Liora Norwich, a lecturer on Israeli and Palestinian politics and a seasoned traveler in the region, this workshop will cover:
Where to stay, how to get around and stay safe
How to best plan your trip, what to bring, and how to prepare
Ways to engage with Israeli and Palestinian culture
Different viewpoints on tourism to locations in conflict
We hope to see you there!
