On Friday, May 5th and Saturday, May 6th Song of the Whale will be docked at Fan Pier Marina on the South Boston Waterfront. Starting at 10:00 am, the vessel will be open for free tours, and IFAW experts and scientists will be available for questions and sharing information about our research efforts.
Commissioned by IFAW in 2002, the Song of the Whale—a 70-foot research sailing vessel—is currently on an expedition to follow the migration of the North Atlantic right whale and conduct research and monitoring on this critically endangered species from their calving grounds in the Southeast US to the Gulf of Maine. This research will help us understand how and where to reduce the life-threatening risks these whales face every day. Our work is being done in close collaboration with the leading right whale researchers and scientists.
This is an open invitation. Reservations via Eventbrite are appreciated. Please feel free to share this invitation widely within your network.
