Talk and Specialty Tour- "Did I See the Wicked Players?": Illegal Theater and King's Chapel in 18th-century Boston

Enlightening entertainment or encouragement of vice? Theater had both reputations in the 18th-century English world, and it was illegal in Boston for decades. This exhibit and tour explore what in Boston’s culture, and in the nature of theater, led to a law against it. In the colonial crypt, the tour will visit King’s Chapel members who helped legalize theater, a vibrant part of the arts we enjoy in Boston.

Please note that this program contains some adult content. It is recommended for ages 12+.

Doors open at 5:45 pm. We encourage you to arrive early to check-in and explore the exhibit before the talk begins.
