The Capital Trio will play works for cello, piano, and violin by Ludwig van Beethoven, Bill Black, and Joseph Haydn.
The Capital Trio began as the Cecilia Piano Trio in 1997, named for the patron saint of music and the cellist’s daughter. Described in the Kalamazoo Gazette as “convincing both as strong individual musical personalities and as a cohesive unit,” the trio became the ensemble in residence at the University of Albany in 2006, taking on a new name to reflect this transition. The ensemble has performed, lectured, coached, and given master classes at the University of Albany, Williams College, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, SUNY Oswego, Long Island University, Clark University, and others.
Registration begins March 3 at 9 am.

The Athenæum's five galleried floors overlook the peaceful Granary Burying Ground, and, as Gamaliel Bradford wrote in 1931, "it is safe to say that [no library] anywhere has more an atmosphere of its own, that none is more conducive to intellectual aspiration and spiritual peace." The building was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1966.
